"Moderate Republicans can't stand these people (conservatives), because they're intolerant. They don't think tolerance is a virtue," Dean said, adding: "I'm not going to have these right-wingers throw away our right to be tolerant."
And concluding his backyard speech with a litany of Democratic values, he added: "This is a struggle of good and evil. And we're the good."

As a recall there was a very contentious GOP primary, and she squeaked by..also..she's not what you would call a "mainstream" Dem..she's way to the right of Pataki, for example..

In Northfield, Minnesota there are still bullet holes on the outside bank walls from the James-Younger robbery attempt of 1876 when the Norwegian farmers of Northfield shot the h!ll out of the crooks. Norwegians are usually very easy-going people...except when you try to take off with their money.

The ranting lunatic considers his extreme leftism a model of tolerance? He then speaks for Moderate Republicans as if he's on the same team? LMAO! What an idiot. He's still running for president in his mind I think. Someone should tell him the election is over, Bush won.

I met a guy from Northfield, Minnesota a few years back. He told me that they're still talking about the robbery. It was, apparently, the ONLY thing that ever happened there.

Looks like Dean has no "tolerance" for conservatives.

does anyone besides me see a huge contradiction in the following phrase :
"Moderate Republicans can't stand these people (conservatives), because they're intolerant . . ."?
someone seriously doesn't get it.

I guess someone finally objected to having a celebration named after a bank robber and murderer! lol.
I think they renamed it "Wild West Days."

There are two good colleges in Northfield, St.Olaf's and Carleton, and it's a pretty area, but you're probably correct. They haven't had anything like that happen before or since. It's about one hundred miles from where I live, but it's a nice stop on the way to the Twin Cities.

They do have a celebration (?) in Northfield every summer. I could be wrong, but they might call it "Jesse James Days".
