The Lebanese were reading between the lines.

Yes, they sure were. While their movement needed a spark, in this case the assassination of their former prime minister, it's clear the Lebanese people were ready to sieze the moment and push for their freedom. No rational person could deny that it was GWB's strong stand on behalf of the oppressed peoples of the Middle East that opened this door for the Lebanese people.

If you are correct, then Bush belongs on Mt. Rushmore. I'm being extremely skeptical about this until there's some follow-through from Syria, but I am genuinely hopeful for what's going on there.
