Five Days Til Terri Schiavo’s Execution: New Developments

Mar 13,2005

Mark this date in history, folks. It’s the first time in memory that I find myself agreeing with that otherwise disagreeable, angry, mostly leftist feminist witch, Gloria Allred. But this time she’s right because she agrees with me and I’m always right. (No conceit there. When you’re always right, you’re always right. No sense in mincing words or making apologies about it.)

Allred is representing San Diego businessman Robert Herring who offered to give Terri’s opportunistic “husband” Michael a cool $1 million to walk away and grant guardianship to the folks who don’t want to kill her: Terri’s parents, the Schindlers. The offer was promptly rejected, of course, by the guy who hopes to be the first person in the history of the country to legally kill his “wife”.

While Mr. Herring’s offer is admirable, he has to understand that, in addition to being opportunistic, Schiavo isn’t stupid either. He realizes that, while he’s trying to exercise his opportunism through the assistance of this idiot judge, George Greer, through the back door so to speak, he won’t be up front about his opportunism and take $1 mil to walk away and leave Terri and her parents alone because then his opportunism would be on display for all the world to see. The way he’s doing it now, he can play the poor, sainted “husband” who is merely trying to carry out his “wife’s” wish to be killed and leave him with a tidy sum of cash. Also let’s not forget that with allegations of abuse swirling around him, if he were to take Mr. Herring’s cash and run, it would tend to raise some eyebrows at the Florida Department of Children and Families. So of course, Schindler gets more mileage out of playing the devoted “husband” doggedly pursuing his “wife’s” wish to be killed.

And for those of you who support his twisted legally sanctioned murder, the “sainted husband” routine doesn’t wash for all the reasons I've listed in my previous columns on the Terri Schiavo case.

Since this valiant but naïve effort on the part of Mr. Herring didn’t persuade Schiavo to walk away, it looks as though the execution will go off as planned, because in another development, the judge who has turned his courtroom into his own little disabled-person-killing fiefdom has ruled that the Florida Dept. of Children and Families will not be allowed to intervene in this case long enough to investigate allegations that Michael Schiavo beat the living hell out of his “wife” and that he may be partially responsible for her currently disabled state. And, although I’m not certain, in so doing,Greer may be the first judge in the history of the country stupid, ignorant or derelict enough to aid and abet(however unwittingly) an alleged wife beater in the cover up of such abuse.

While Schiavo deserves the benefit of the doubt in these allegations, they need to be investigated and his behavior and the judge’s behavior in light of this are certainly questionable. If Schiavo has nothing to hide, why oppose the investigation. If he’s not guilty, he may be able to kill his “wife” after the investigation is complete. Whether Terri dies of starvation two weeks from this coming Friday or two weeks from the next date Greer sets for the execution, she’ll be just as dead. Why two weeks after the tube is pulled you ask? Dying of dehydration and starvation is a slow painful process. Those of you who don’t believe this and think killing Terri this way is humane ought to try it sometime.

We afford serial killers a far more humane death than a death by starvation. In fact, I’d be willing to bet most of the libs out there who are in favor of killing off Terri but opposed to killing violent killer on the basis that it’s “cruel and unusual” would throw a fit if we suddenly decided that the preferred method of execution for serial killers will be starvation in their cells. Starving Terri in the prison her “husband” has kept her in for the last 12 years is cool though.

And in a final development in Terri’s case, Mel Gibson has lent his support to the fight to save Terri from her killer “husband” and the killer judge. This is, of course, just Gibson being Gibson: True to his conservatism, and consistent in his beliefs. That’s more than can be said for those who oppose killing babies in the womb but support killing a disabled woman because, as her “guardian” her “husband” with all his interests that are diametrically opposed to Terri’s has the right to set the value of her life at zero and dispose of her. Or those who oppose killing Terri but think that ripping a baby out of a mother’s womb with a suction device or killing is with saline, a pill, or a sharp object to the base of the skull is perfectly okay. Can anyone say “hypocrisy”?

Well, it appears to me that we’ve pretty much lost the fight to keep Terri’s killers from killing her and this step won’t do Terri any good. But it may keep a killer from killing again. I’m talking about impeaching this idiot judge who, from what I heard, hasn’t taken the time to even go see Terri interact with family members. Sean Hannity pointed out that in this day and age, it’s not usual at all for us to send an entire jury out to a scene so they can get a feel for the case they are deciding. And yet in all the years this man has issued rulings in this case, he hasn’t once been out to see the woman he’s about to kill. Sign the petition. Stop this killer before he kills again.

Thanks again,bjs1779. It is hard to look at but consider what these ghouls intend to do in just a few days. It would happen at the beginning of the weekend of Palm Sunday and she would suffer through Holy Week and Good Friday while we get angry and then enjoy our own life support.

Even when Christ was crucified, the Romans didn't deny him liquid to moisten his tongue.
