I believe that Bishop Lynch is being blackmailed, tacitly or actually. I know I've posted that before, but I want to emphasize what I wrote to Bishop Lynch himself last week: we are not going to forget what a disgraceful quisling he has been through this crisis. His statement of Feb. 28 was disgraceful in its mendacity. I'll bet Rome has heard many complaints about Lynch.
There has been molestation within the St. Petersburg diocese, one former priest is in prison. I found there are some recent civil suits which also name Lynch and may likely be related to the same issue. Don't know what judge. But a ruling in favor of Lynch when it should have been ruled for the molestation victim would surely put Lynch in the position of "owing a favor".
