TERRI SCHIAVO
Do not permit starvation

In response to a March 2 letter, I would like to offer the following comment:

A nation's true greatness is measured not by its arsenal of nuclear weapons, but by how it treats the most vulnerable of its members.

The Civil War proclaimed to all the world that America was indeed a great nation. If we now permit the starvation of Terri Schiavo, the world will rightly conclude that we have joined the ranks of Nazi Germany.

MOST REV. VICTOR GALEONE,
bishop,
Diocese of Saint Augustine,
Jacksonvile

Bishop Galeone of Jacksonville, FL is one of a handful of bishops who have spoken up for Terri. Where are you Bishop Robert Lynch?
