Last bit of postscript... unless I think of more.

The purple chosen for the rubber fingers and the foam fingers was pretty dark. Something closer to lavender would have looked less like black.

"The purple chosen for the rubber fingers and the foam fingers was pretty dark. Something closer to lavender would have looked less like black." I agree with what you've said, and everyone at the rally yesterday welcomes (and is thankful for) all the good input from everyone. One of the terrible beauties of these types of events is all the human imperfections that go along with them. Usually, a lot of things don't go right so the best we can do is do the best we can at the time, and just roll with what we've got. No matter how much planning goes into these kind of events these rallys are still kind of a dynamic process that unfold before the event's creators as the event is happening. I'm not trying to make excuses for not doing the best we can, just pointing out how putting on a even a moderately flawless protest is a lot like shooting at a moving target. Here's just one example from yesterday's protest: At one point RonDog, or someone, said, "Hey, we should paint Bush's finger purple on the sign that says, "...and the winner is." My response to that was, "Cool," "Go for it." Later, when I saw the purple finger, it did look kind of dark, and my response then was, "He looks like an amputee. They should have only painted half of his finger purple." The truth of the matter is, it really looked good either way. I take comfort in knowing that any obfuscation, or over complicating, of our true meaning only befuddled the Hollywood "intellects" even more - if that is possible. People have so many different perceptions in their ideas, and responses to ideas, that it is truly miraculous we come to as much consensus and understanding as we do. It is impossible to come up with the perfect protest, but as in the words of the old Beatles song, "if we try real hard we just might get what we need." We truly do have a lot of common ground in our group of Freepers. Although it is absolutely necessary to have good planning and feedback, at some point we reach a critical point were we attain "paralysis by analysis," if we plan too much. Even worse, it stops being fun. We rolled out the Freepers and we rocked Hollywood, and with all the great input from everyone, and the grace of God, we're all learning to do an even better job of rocking the liberal world next time. Freep on.
