The City suckers folks in to buy homes in Oakland with that program, and then doesn't provide basic police protection from street thugs and gangs selling drugs in his driveway.. go figure...

The City should buy the guy out, it effectively created the mess and environment folks are caught up in, imo.

Supposedly, the parents of the shot thug are going to sue the homeowner,, this guy will need some legal and defense fund help at this rate.

I do understand the why's beneath the "low-income" home incentive. Many are trying to clean up the place; make it habitable. And, ownership is key to turning many slums around. But cops have better things to do than to clean-up youth gang cultchah when the Bay Area is host to far more sinister "gang operations".

The parents of the shot thug are part of the problem. A MAJOR PART OF THE PROBLEM. They take no responsibility for how they've raised their own. They see deep pockets. They've got their own racket going within the community under the rubric of "identity politics".
