US Hostile Policy against Cuba Have Caused the Island Huge Damage

# Monterrey, Mexico, Feb 27 (Prensa Latina) The US government-led biological warfare and economic blockade on Cuba have caused the Island economic damages estimated at more than $USD130 billion, a Cuban official asserted Sunday in Monterrey.

Addressing a Friendship and Solidarity Meeting, the Vice President of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the People (ICAP) José Estévez blamed the US blockade for having caused Cuba losses for over $USD80 billion, while the biological warfare have meant some $USD54 billion in damage.

At least 3,478 people have died and 1,099 have been seriously affected by biological weapons the United States has used against Cuba, the official told participants at the 10th Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba in Monterrey, Mexico.

The use of biological weapons against Cuba has affected most of the food industry, including poultry farming, honey production, breeding of trout and the production of rice, potato and coffee, he denounced.

Other biological attacks targeted hog farms, sugar, tobacco and banana plantations, and even human beings by introducing in the island the virus of dengue fever.

Estévez reiterated that Cuba, a victim of terrorist actions orchestrated, financed, stimulated and protected by succesive US governments, rejects, condemns and fights however any manifestation of terrorism.

The Cuban official demonstrated the false arguments the US uses to justify the blockade and its aggressive policy against the Island. Estévez warned that Washington is paving the grounds to launch a military aggression against Cuba.

Maybe if Dan Rather, Ed Asner, Danny Glover, et al who proclaim this communists states success would move down there it could pump some money into their economy. Not like we would miss them.

For 45 years, Cuba has been victimized by a bearded weapon of mass destruction.......a sociopath with no compassion.

The only people who still support the regime in Cuba are the ones reaping the economic benefits - which is a small number.

"Estévez warned that Washington is paving the grounds to launch a military aggression against Cuba."

Yep, first we send in the mosquitos with the Dengue Fever to soften them up. Next we send over a flotilla of decommissioned tug boats with big slingshots mounted on their bows...

Perhaps thousands of Cuban mercenaries returned from Africa with strange new diseases which are now native to Cuba.

Oh, yes. It's always the fault of capitalists when a socialist pig sty doesn't quite pan out. Everyone knows that.

I mean, it's not like the fanatics on the Left have noticed a pattern or anything.

Head of Cuban Parliament Calls Election Process a Unique Privilege

Havana, Feb 26 (Prensa Latina) Ricardo Alarcon, president of the People´s Power National Assembly, rated the Cuban election process as an exceptional privilege under the current world conditions.

In an interview published Friday by Granma daily, Alarcon assured that the capacity and legal authority of Cubans to nominate and elect directly instead of using election machines is a unique opportunity, which should be used with great wisdom, securing the right person is elected in each constituency.

The nomination of candidates to Municipal Assemblies (local government) began Thursday in each constituency. Over 41,500 public assemblies have been scheduled until March 24 in nearly 15,000 constituencies, ahead of the April 17 elections.

"This does not mean we are looking for a magician who can solve all problems. This is impossible given the physical, material and objective limitations a country like ours, constantly attacked on the economic and political fronts, is facing," Granma quoted Alarcon as saying.

"The idea is to name and then elect the person we think has all the qualities required to serve the people and make the best use of our material potential for development," he added.

Cubans should be conscious of their privilege to exert civil and political rights, so in this way the country is taking another important step to improve the legislative power, the Parliament president indicated.

Emmanuel Goldstein and the ubiquitous anti-Oceania Brotherhood have spoiled crops, sabotaged factories, kidnapped children, purposefully spread disease, and aided our Land's enemy (Eastasia, or Eurasia, I forget which). These abominable acts are committed with the purpose of demoralizing the Party and the Proles and discrediting INGSOC in their eyes. Know that BB cannot be defeated and will triumph over these obstacles into a golden age unparalleled in human history!
