My wife used to be liberal, and now she's to the right of me and still moving in that direction. So don't give up hope on that score. As for movies, I don't know. I simply will not watch any movies of recent vintage, because you are making a contribution to the DNC every time you do. While I am sure there are some good ones around, the industry is so far to the left that I just won't support any faction of it.

Just don't share your next random thought with anybody. It's important the you keep your emotions bottled up.

Do what we do and don't watch the crap. Talk to your conservative friends who dislike the pop-culture and get their opinion. I have a lot of friends who watch movies and they all seem to tell me I am not missing much anymore. We do watch some TV, but the BS detector is always on. Check out the FR book club. You could do what some of my friends have done, get a new wife. I don't know if that is a bridge you want to cross. If it is, make her go first. If you must watch movies you two should agree to some parameters:no politics, no subjects either of you find offensive, and mutual agreement on any title, no questions asked. A no vote by either of you is good as gold. Fox news has Michael Medved on often.

The reviews at rottentomatoes.com are usually sufficient to identify what is right/wrong about a movie. The sheer number of reviews makes it difficult for the critics to hide underlying political agendas within movies.

You are not alone in stating your position in a video establishment.
I frequent one establishment, in particular, and turn over every video display copy of liberal propaganda documentaries.
Just so happens, my husband works at this establishment part-time.
Good luck with your wife, hope she will eventually lean to the right.

As long as you allow some room to breathe and approach conservatism from a looser perspective, it probably would be ok.
Conservatives have a reputation (largely - but not entirely - unwarranted) as sticks in the mud. A collection of movie reviews with a conservative perspective could easily degenerate into almost self-parody: it could make the reviews unreadable, obnoxious, and dull.
So it really depends what you mean by conservative movie reviews. Nobody needs a reviewer to dissect the liberal themes in films - we all know the are there. We don't need a body count, nor a tally of extramarital/non-marital sexual content in the typical film. Again, we all know what we are watching.
Unless you can avoid the self parody (and shadowboxing - witness the 'conservative' critics of Shreck 2 in the news lately: they are the ones with the mental problem, not the makers of Shreck), then go for it. If it degenerates into tallies of things that will offend the sensibilities of the average conservative, just keep it to yourself.

I don't really want any particular group screening movies for me, no matter their political orientation, so generally I go to imdb.com to check out movies I might be interested in seeing. There are generally plenty of reviews and links.
Your experience at the video store is different than mine I guess, since there seem to be plenty of choices that aren't political one way or the other. I did run into a problem lately when my wife suggested seeing Meet the Fockers and I told I couldn't handle watching Barbra Streisand no matter how funny it was.
