There are unsolved murders up until at least 1991 and maybe later that are probably him. One victim lived down the block from him.
Agree. It will definitely be interesting to find out more - Was he in prison for awhile? - Did he commit other murders? - Etc.
Hopefully this is the guy and they got him - Sounds like he made a big mistake dropping one of those letters off (camera's nailed him - probably the security camera in a store across the street or something like that).

This is the description of the first murder..Like you, I can't imagine that he just "got it out of his system." and reformed...
His contact lately might mean he was feeling stressed, feeling the great urge again and wanted to be caught..or he just needed to feel important again..
He likes publicity.
Of course he lied about his personal information in letters he sent. He needs to feel powerful and striking fear in the hearts of citizens and fooling the police helped him feel that way.
