Really? How many iPod like devices has Microsoft sold?
In eighteen months, how much do you spend on AAAs?

LOL! Sometimes i talk in Haiku too!
But that's just it. It play stolen mp3s that have the DRM stripped from them just fine. What it won't play is legally purchased audio from other competing vendors that have the DRM still embedded. It's not about preventing piracy, it's about preventing competition.
Thank you. I'm on the cusp of a decision.
Oh, God... you bred...
That's telling him, JV.
I just wish your parents hadn't.
Hhmm, I've been using it for a little over 3 months and just recently replaced the batteries.
It runs on 2.
I bought maybe a sixpack for 6 bucks? So 2 dollars per batter change, 6 changes, would be 12 bucks!
No sending it back, no having to order from some website. No spending $100 or $30 or whatever. Its as easy as and slight as picking up a pack a smokes at the gas station.
At first i Thought I-POD users were stupid. Now, after reading this thread, i know that they are friggin INSANE!
"NO! YOUR WRONG! YOU DONT SPEND $250! OMG! APPLE ONLY CHARGES $100 DOLLARS! ITS COMPLETELY FAIR! OMG, AND I KNOW THIS WEBSITE, WHICH ONLY CHARGE 30 DOLLARS AND YOU DO IT YOURSELF! ITS SO EASY! ALL THOSE PEOPLE THAT SCREWED UP THEIR IPODS ARE LYING! LYING! YOUR ALL LIARS!"
It's a friggin battery peeople! A BATTERY! And the thing plays music, and your defending it like its the backbone of your life!
But i guess i can only hold a few hundred songs, rather than a million cajillion songs to buy from i-tunes for more money than it costs to feed me.
A1: Yes and no. The iPod's case is not designed to be opened, so, in that respect, it's not what would generally be referred to as "user-replaceable".
If all of the devout Mac faithful here could just calm down for a minute, they might be able to grasp that this is the crux of the problem. Apple designed this thing, that operates on battery power, with a battery that has a limited lifespan, with a case that IS NOT MEANT TO BE OPENED! CAN it be opened? Sure. CAN you replace the battery yourself? Sure. Did Apple make it reasonably easy to do so? No.
How anyone can argue that that isn't a ridiculous design, and one that is irritating as all get out, is beyond me.
But those who question or criticize Macs around here are asking to be pounced upon by the fanatical Apple cultists, who attack all who dare to question the wisdom, the brilliance, and the "hipness" of Apple and Steve Jobs.
As the satirical "iProduct" flyer says, "I buy Apple products. It just makes me feel special."
Talk about a group of liberals if i ever saw one.
If you own a truly fine watch, you will discover that it will cost you a tidy sum to get the battery replaced in it as well. You don't have the proper tools to open the watch and be sure the gaskets are replaced according to spec. Perhaps you could post a Tag Heuer rant when you are through with your iPod rant.
I hope they are at least polite enough to feel some guilt.
I see a lot of people saying that "product A" is better than the iPod, but I don't see a lot of explanation or depth to their claims. So please enlighten me. Why is the Zen better than the iPod?
In your answer, please indicate if you would be open to discussion on this topic.
