The S7, which tops Forbes magazine's list of high-priced autos, is a race car that's been "tamed" for the billionaire impulse shopper.

Articles I have read say Corvette still claims 0-60 of 4.2 seconds and top speed of 186 mph for the standard Corvette C6 engine.
The Z51 Performance package of which you speak includes a stiffer suspension, beefier brakes and higher gear ratios.

You are so right. Slab sides, ghetto rims, squashed greenhouse, it's got all the visual appeal of a file cabinet. The new Caddy sedans are about the same.

My oldest daughter got a car for her 16th birthday. I bought her a Caddy, like this one, from a little old ladie's estate. It had 65k on it, and needed paint, but ran like a dream. I figured she'd be safer, and the gas mileage kept her off the road. She had an allowance...
It had a 502... and could carry a small army of friends... and I always worried about the other guy! We live in the hills of West Virginia, and it's amazing how a big car can make those curves! The only problem was they were usually narrow roads, and she was laways in a hurry!
She now drives a jeep with a soft top, and has a three yr old boy!
That one belonged to a gynecologist.

I can usually beat a C6 from a 40mph roll to 120mph, but after that they just have too much top end for me.
I saw one of the shows on Discovery where they went through the building process and delivery to the customer of the vehicle. Only watched it because it fell between motorcycle shows but I have to say Steve's outdone himself on this one. I'd still take a 68 Fastback over this car.
I'll say this much for that mill-- it has the serpentine belt of all serpentine belts.
She crunched it into a snow bank, and we "donated" the engine to a friend's "pullin' truck" project! I only paid $300 at an auction, and about $250 in hoses/belts/oil/filterssss. Insurance gave us a grand. She could crawl into the engine compartment and change the plugs, almost standing on her head. I taught her well..
My youngest daughter has a 280Z, which we trailered from Richmond. She bought it through the z club (we own 4 300ZX's) for a hundred bucks. She is sanding and getting it ready for paint. It runs fine, with a tuneup, but had to fix the brakes before driving onto the road... My wife of five years, is our mechanic, and maintains/repairs our fleet! We have plans for a 13000 sq ft shop...
Do you live in 1) Germany next to the Autobahn, 2) Your Brother-in-Law is the local Sheriff, or 3) Your driveway is 10 miles long, two lanes, and looks like the Autobahn, or 4) Where pray-tell, do you open up these over-sexed wheels without recourse from the Man?
