Feisty Biden toying with run for president

Outspoken Democratic Sen. Joseph Biden of Delaware confirmed Wednesday that he is seriously testing the waters for a 2008 presidential run -- even as he acknowledged that Sen. Hillary Clinton would be "the overwhelming, prohibitive favorite'' to become the nominee of his party.

"I'm sounding it out,'' said Biden, 62, during an interview with The Chronicle editorial board. "In all my career, there's more at stake than any time since I've been a senator ... (and) I have some pretty clear ideas about what I think should be done.''

On Iraq, Biden warned that there is a chance that "civil war" may break out.

Biden also addressed the steroids furor that has engulfed baseball over the past year... Biden had been openly critical of the revised drug-testing plan baseball announced last month..."I worry about is what (steroids) does to the ethics of this country''

(/snip)

On another issue, Biden said there "should be, but there won't be'' a congressional investigation into the revelation that a White House press pass was given to a correspondent named Jeff Gannon

Considering biden is the Senator from Delaware and not Maryland.........I don't understand your point....although I do hope it was sarcasm.

Awright, dang it!

I don't (or didn't) know the difference between Delaware and Maryland. A place that size has got some darn nerve having two Senators anyway. Why, as soon as ice is out, we could drop the whole state into Moosehead Lake, and nobody would be the wiser, except the fish.

And while we're on the subject of my abject apology for geopolitical malfeasance, could we also drop Rhode Island into the lake?

The real question is does Plugs Biden really think he is Presidential Timber? John Kerry has the wooden thing all tied up.

Plugs is delusional...........there was a time when it came to presidential elections that the mantra "so goes Delaware, so goes the nation" was true.

They tried to keep that up with the "bush didn't win the popular vote" thing when the state went to Gore in 2000.......they can't do it any longer.

Unfortunately, Plugs doesn't understand that -- he thinks that since has not lost an election in Delaware in 30+ years he can't go wrong...........

But with more of you New Englanders moving into to Delaware, he's guaranteed re-election time after time....that's why I left, I don't need any more socialism in my life and that is all that is moving to Delaware. socialists who like the low taxes and country feel, and they immediately start wanting urban stuff which someone has to pay for.
