{Published in cooperation with the Earth Policy Institute online at: www.earth-policy.org} Quote of Note "Basically, every human individual carries responsibility for the benefit or welfare of humanity and for the planet itself, because this planet is our only home. We have no alternative refuge. Therefore, everyone has the responsibility to care not only for our fellow human beings but also for insects, plants, animals and this very planet." -- His Holiness Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama.
Hey Willie. You left out the last part.
Just what is the Earth Policy Institute's agenda, and what's the 14th Dalai Lama got to do with the global warming crowd?

No mention of the Gakkel Ridge in relation to Arctic ice melting?
Well...that's intellectual honesty for you. I'm sure the 12 new volcanoes they discovered in 2001 along with intense geothermal activity have nothing at all to do with melting Actic ice. Nope, not a thing.

That damn Bush, he destroyed millions of years of peaceful harmony with nature in only four years! And all because he ... he ... well ... exactly what did he do anyway? Oh but wait, the liberals tried to help ... they had meetings, made accords, cried, waved picket signs, sent lots of emails and all kinds of other worthwhile things. Next, they will take pictures of themselves holding signs that say "Sorry World, we tried to help".

If there's really global warming, there is a simple solution, proposed by Dr. Edward Teller.
All that is necessary is to reduce the amount of sunlight reaching the earth by about 1% or 2%. This can be done easily with artificial clouds.
These 'clouds' can be placed in orbit between the sun and the earth, will be invisible, and will block enough sunlight to
end the 'global warming'.

Lots of fascinating claims and numbers. Light on sources. Perhaps one could appeal to the author's Authority, but if it's the same Danielle Murray
here, she has a Bachelor's degree in Human Biology "and a concentration in International Development and the Environment". (A "concentration" probably means about 3 classes.)
I don't mean to deny that "ice is melting" of course. Ice tends to melt under the right conditions. Conversely, water can tend to freeze under the right conditions. Who knows, however, what percentage of the claims listed here actually have a basis in fact? It's a laundry list of claims of unspecified reliability that for all I know she got by doing repeated Google searches and copy n pasting from who-knows-what source.

It's OK. Kevin Costner will be able to find the way to dry land...

And the sky is falling also. Perhaps those dedicated environmentalists that are worried by the impact of humans can do the right thing and off themselves immediately a la Hunter Thompson and help solve the problems they see.

It's worse than that in Eureka Ca. My wife emptied the ice in our freezer and it melted right before our eyes as it lay there helpless in the sink...
