I didn't notice any difference except that I didn't remember people and events for the previous 3 years before the surgery. That was because they had to remove part of my hippocampus. Fortunately, I lost none of my education. After brain surgery you have some severe depression just from having your brain messed with, but after that clears up everything is the same. At least in my case. I'm sure it's different for everyone. But from what I've read, and what I experienced, you're still the same person afterward that you were before. Actually, getting used to not having seizures was kind of hard, as weird as that seems.

I definitely looked the same after my hair grew back in, except that my hair is now naturally curly and went from blonde to brown. Other than that no change. People who saw me after the hair grew back had no idea I'd had anything done.

Very, very interesting, Giliad. Thanks for the candid response. Losing 3 years worth of memories sounds pretty disheartening, but clearly the virtual banishment of the seizures is a very good thing.
