I believe the Catholic Church does now allow cremation, however, they have not always done so. When I went to a Catholic grade school in the 1960's I was taught that they did not allow cremation.
The church has changed a lot of its rules and regulations through the years since Vatican II and this may well be one of them.
Thank you...a reply to my question...yes, I did find out that the Catholic Church does allow cremation...what really did disturb me about this was that my husbands aunt was cremated(she was a very devout, active Catholic woman), and it was her wish to be cremated...
Then I go onto some of these Terris threads, and there are posters claiming that cremation is against the Catholic religion...
I was trying to reconcile my husbands aunts wishes with what I was reading on some of these threads...
Cremation is an option within the Catholic church...some may opt for that, others for burial...a personal choice...
