Once again, you have proven my point. I have in NO way eluded to the idea that I support "the Communist Government's reaction to dissidents". Many people in the West look upon Chinese with skewed judgement. Everything to do with China is automatically assumed to be evil, to be part of the Communist Party's plan to destroy everything humanity stands for. Such PREJUDICE is what fueled every racial war in history, including the GENOCIDE Hitler waged against the Jewish people. I would suggest you watch where you are going.
As for the gruesome nature of the execution, I must agree that it, to a bystander does look quite cruel. However, it is guaranteed the person suffered for a negligible amount of time. In the US, someone could die slowly on a table while chemicals slowly suffocate him. Studies show that the anesthetics in the drug wears off well before the person dies, so that the person would essentially suffocate to death slowly and conciously, though still paralyzed. Is that more humane? Or perhaps should we try to melt people from inside out, and watch them suffer numberous shocks delivered to them by means of an electric chair?
