"And it is on this issue that it becomes most egregious, Roman Catholicism's doctrine of the Eucharist is VERY different from the Protestant's, and I have a feeling NBC is aware of this."

They knew exactly what they were doing. That's why they thought it would be soooooo funny to flush the wafer down the toilet.

It's blasphemy in my book.

"Many faiths use it to represent the Body of Christ, but dogma dictates in Catholicism that it BECOMES the Body of Christ. It is NOT merely representative. The Host IS Jesus."

I am quite aware of this. Thanks!

Friends?

It doesn't just represent the Body of Christ - it IS the Body of Christ.

Since not all Christian churches believe or teach that a wafer IS the actual Body of Christ...
...not all Christian believe that Christ Himself was actually flushed down a toilet, because some people flushed a Communion wafer.

Do you even know what the Holy Communion Host is?

and how eloquent, Catholics should keep their "pie holes" shut?

Since this was supposed to be about Catholics, it was a representation of doing just that.

Sickening in the extreme.

Whether you believe in Catholic doctrine or not, if you understand how it is we see it, you can see why this is appallingly horrid.

? Maybe I've been online too long today. Not sure what you are referring to within your parentheses.

Because Jesus said when passing the bread to his disciples, "This IS my body...this IS my blood," it is difficult to see how one can misunderstand the real presence of Christ in the elements of Holy Communion. Unless, of course, you, like Bill Clinton, don't know what the meaning of "is" is.

To the left religion and belief in God is an accessory that you "wear" from time to time when the occasion fits, when someone dies, or gets married, etc...

It can be made fun of like the color of your futon or expression on your face when you eat something yucky. There is nothing sacred to the left except their disgusting perverted ways and love of all things P.C. Truly, they are an abomination.

Do you have any examples of Christian denominations who do not believe in the Holy Eucharist as it is spelled out in the Holy Bible?

I'm not going to argue with you about what the Bible says on this doctrine.

My statement was that not ALL Christian churches believe as Catholics do, that the wafer IS the ACTUAL Body of Christ.
Rather they believe it is a representation of His Flesh.

Do you know of ANY Protestant Churches that share the Catholic belief on this?

I don't. And I've been to MANY Protestant Churches.

I watched it tonight. It was a farce about two people trying to be respectful. It wasn't that funny butttt.....

Get over it!

It didn't ridicule religion, communion or Catholics.

On another note, this show is occasionally funny. Tom Poston is a scream as the dying clown who lives in the closet.

Is there any way to track down which stations aired this? I am ready to send an email out to my affiliate KARE, but I have no clue whether they aired it or not.

It doesn't just represent the Body of Christ - it IS the Body of Christ.

To the observant Protestant, who don't believe it actually is the Body of Christ, but rather a symbol like baptism, it is just as offensive.

I might not agree with Catholic theology on transubstantiation, but I find this offensive as a Christian.

I think Episcopalians believe in this doctrine as well, but I could be wrong...

As long as Donohue is promoting the homosexual agenda he should keep quiet.

Donahue is? How do we know he is?
