Internet ^

Posted on 02/24/2005 3:50:02 PM PST by dominic7

For the last two years, the Old Media figures at the White House thought of me as a gadfly, a right-winger with an agenda, harmless, someone to be ignored.

OK, check everyone in the media that may have had a questionable relationship and deny them credentials. There would be no press conferences.

I want someone who is that close to the president to have to go through a background check like everyone else.

How close how often do you have it in your head he was to the President? And what do you think he was going to do that was threatening in some way...strip?

It's clear to me (but not to poor old you, evidently), that those with permanent passes get to travel with the President and Cabinet members and attend Presidential press conferences (as opposed to just plain old press briefings) on a regular basis.

This is not rocket science and I'm tired of this wide-eyed "what's going on here" like you really expect every single person admitted to briefings to receive a background check equivalent to a political appointment. He had a day pass, not the permanent pass.

Gannon attended 4 Presidential press conferences, asked him two questions (was actually called on once) over a two year time period. In addition, I believe they were spur of the moment Presidential press conferences at that, so it was luck that he was at the WH at the time.

There is no evidence he posed a threat.

Gannon's not the point, really.

Uh huh, I know.

He's just the handy Bush bashing bludgeon of the moment.

Being gay would have been fine had he just not been a conservative gay. I know that sounds familair.

It wasn't that he was gay, it was that he's a prostitute, a $1500/weekend callboy. Heterosexual women can be reporters just fine, but can you imagine if CBS' White House Correspondent was a streetwalker? See the difference?

The last time some freak got into the White House complex the Democrats threw a royal tissie fit and demanded apologies because the freak was a Democrat and a muslim and the Secret Service threw the freak out over his dad's connections to terrorism.

But I guess that was different since the guy the Secret Service threw out was a Democrat staffer working for one of the Baghdad trio... I believe it was Congressman Bonior.
