"Lohra was dragged out of the house and then beaten up by sticks and slippers. A barber then shaved his head, eyebrows and moustache. No one from the village was allowed to leave the village all that while, police officials said. Till 10 p.m. last night, Lohra was subject to regular beatings by the women. He was then left unconscious." Vigilante justice India style. Bet that'll learn him.

I sure hope they frog-marched, shaved, beat and left unconscious the right guy.
If all went well with this instant justice we wont being seeing any photos of it on the internet.... if so, Rumsfeld would have a lot of explaining to do.
Our inner city neighborhoods would do well to administer this same thoughtful approach to self-policing themselves. Crime would all but vanish overnight.

I think these women acted in a perfectly measured way. No castrating, but he was shaved to show his crime. Being naked was different when he was the "victim." The regular beatings were succinct and should have gotten his attention. Will be interesting to see the next step if he refuses to change.

Around six months ago, an FIR was lodged by a middle-aged woman alleging him of raping her. The matter is being investigated, said a Senha police station official.
"The matter is being investigated". No wonder these women took the law into their own hands.

Reminds me of the vigilantes in Mexico city that killed the two policemen by mistake. Thank God we live in a country where the rule of law prevails, not mob justice. Of course, mob justice is what you get when the rule of law fails.
