Note that almost all of the sex abuse by teachers cases involve public school teachers...it seems... such cases are more common in the public schools than in the private/parochial schools.

Given the numerous, enormous wealth transfers in lieu of capital punishment occurring in priest pedophilia cases, the whole truth may be that any unpublicized private school cases are successful (and unknown to the public) extortion or blackmail attempts, whether the "payoff" is financial, subtle curricular propagandizing or the hiring/retaining of perpetrators....

All the above argues for more parental involvement on textbook selection committees, parental classroom volunteering, citizen school board meeting attendance and vouchers.
