I don't like yellow ribbons either. To me they are a symbol of weakness and tears. I prefer the strength embodied by the colors red, white and blue. ABSOLUTELY RIGHT! The original song "Tie a Yellow Ribbon" was about an ex-con doing time. Not the symbol I want for our soldiers. Not at all.

That may be the origion of the yellow ribbon but it has evolved to be a symbol of thought and prayer for anyone who is away from home, especially military.
Thats the reason I have them here.
Merely a symbol stating that I am greatful for them and their service. And as long as any of our military is in harms way you can bet they will be displayed here.

I am not sure that the origial ideal for a Yellow Ribbon started then or maybe it is a throwback to the US Horse Calvary and the song "She wore a Yellow Ribbon"
