The only Frenchman I ever came to respect was Lafayette, but if these folks are "seeing the light", then, as a Christian man, I am bound to forgive and forget.

My father was named Lafayette for that reason. Course, everyone called him Pat because they couldn't spell "Lafayette". I asked him why he was named that and he said his family respected "Lafayette".

As for the French, I can get along with anybody that keeps their pie hole shut.
