but the origin of the term "white trash" is in the assumption that ALL black people are trash. I disagree with your statement as it is a non-sequitur. the term "white trash" makes NO comment about any other color or percentage thereof who'd qualify as "trash". It just differentiates white trash from other color trash. The rest is presumption on your part. That is like saying "there is one green car on the block so the rest have to be black cars". Not at all. They could be white, gold, blue, red, yellow....

I was speaking of history, not grammatical construction. You are of course correct that the use of the adjective does not in itself create the context.

Having lived in the Georgia in the late 50's I saw much more white trash than black trash. I wish that was the case today (thinks of the youth rap/gang/drug culture)It seems the be pretty evenly divided, huh?
