The U.S. is dangerous and irresponsible? We are not about to sell weapons to China, a communist country with egregious human rights violations and unsavory global designs.
As for negotiations, all options should always be on the table. In the end there must be a sense of accountablitiy with diplomatic negotiations. If Iran can make an "agreement" and know that in reality that the U.S. and the EU won't back up their words, then what's the point of the negotiations and agreements? They will clearly violate them and build the weapons in earnest despite the negotiations and "agreements."
And what do we get from the Europeans? The U.S., and W in particular, get harshly criticized for going along with prudence and common sense. It doesn't make sense!! And the removal of Saddam was just - no matter how much more money the Europeans could've made off him. The irony is that the more the EU vascillates on the Iran nuclear program negotiations, the better the chance of a U.S.-led war. If they would stop questioning our motives in front of the world and keep "all the options on the table" (and that doesn't mean that they HAVE TO BE USED! - but that's always where they belong), then the greater the chance of a successful diplomacy and no war. Stop the double talk!
And another thing. George W. Bush is the President of the United States of America. A country that lost hundreds of thousands of its finest men and women and trillions of dollars to make sure you Europeans can live in freedom and comfort from the Kaisers, the Hitlers, the Mussolinis, the Stalins, the Khruschevs, and the Brehznevs of the world. Please pretend like you have respect.
Colonial greed and conquest, enslavement on a continental scale, Napoleon, 2 world wars, genocide. I for one can actually see why Europeans are so distrustful of Bush, they think he is one of them!!
The great, historical irony here is that these same young people portesting Bush today will live to see 30-40% of their populations becoming muslim by the time they retire. The next great European cataclysm is in the making (If the EU doesn't get 'em first).
