Either this is satire or this guy is in need of some serious drug therapy.

"Doug Wead is a man that took a friendship and betrayed the Bush family, an action that defines the standards of liberals and the Democratic Party."

And is THAT ever dead on. The Democrat Party took the trust and the willing hard labor of a great people and betrayed their trust, and callously squandered their earnings. What a vile, vile group of people.

As for Wead, I agree with him on one point as you know. I too believe Bush has the potential of being a legendary historic figure. The names Ghengis Khan, Alexander the Great, and Atilla the Hun come have down to us throughout history. I am not of course comparing President Bush to these men, but rather putting forth the idea that what they did in their time was so far reaching and history changing that even people today still know the names, even if they don't study these men. I think President Bush has that potential.

The name of George H.W. Bush is imprinted in the minds and consciousnesses of many in Kuwait and Iraq. Similarly the name of George W. Bush is indelibly imprinted in the minds, stories, and histories of the peoples of Afghanistan and Iraq. He looms large now in the lives of the people of Iran and Syria. North Korea and China look across that vast ocean, and also wonder what his intentions are. History altering things of a positive nature that couldn't have happened in these areas without the intervention of the United States and its President, George W. Bush, are now part of life's fabric in Afghanistan and Iraq. And it may be that in 10,000 years, that whatever happens to this great country of ours, his name will continue to be spoken.

I wonder if many people of their times considered for long that the names of the warrior leaders of those times might still be spoken centuries after they passed. It is possible that in the future, serious historians are probably going to be astounded at today's media and academicians. They may well be laugh at, deride, and even jeer them for their lack of understanding of the significance of today's events, and the profound impact they were going to have on the world's future. Or, what might be considered to be an even worse failure, is that if they did understand the significance of these events, but they unbelieveably, and petulantly, chose to ignore them.

Yes, as for the idea that President Bush might be a historic figure, I agree with Wead. Oh HELL yes!

This is another foolish Times pogrom against Bush which will only strengthen his hand. The Blogs have by now won and the Times is resorting to this nonsense to save its "reputation" Gone are the days when it can offer magazine pices without evidence. Gone are the days of the anonymous source. Gone are the days of "deep throat" and /or "sources say". Can you all imagine how many stories have been squelched or carefully edited by the Times because of you Bloggers. Congrats

It was supposed to show the extreme behavior of the left. It has some serious points to it. To some, it won't be funny, but it'll attain the same relevance and meaning.

I make the point that for satire to be effective and classified as satire, it must be distinguishable from objective reality in some way.

Hehe, this is just TOO much like the "truth" spun by the left that is indistinguishable from THEIR reality!

Thanks Scotty. Mr. Sulu - set a course. Somewhere, out there, a little to the right of the future.
