WASHINGTON, Feb. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Larry Ward and Interactive Political Media, Inc. (IPM), one of the most sought after interactive marketing firms in Washington, will be hosting a contest for activists at The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), the country's oldest and largest annual gathering of grassroots conservatives.
"There is a tremendous amount of untapped creativity within the American community that very rarely has the opportunity to be unleashed," Ward said. "Interactive Political Media is about empowering individuals. We like to think of ourselves as the bullhorn of the individual American."
The contest, deemed "Conservative Idol," will allow individuals to record a 30-second commercial about their favorite public policy debate. The commercials will be hosted at and voted on at http://www.politicalmedia.com/idol/ The winner in each of five categories will receive a cash prize of $500 and will be able to hear their winning commercial broadcast on Radio America, the only radio network in America committed to traditional American values, limited government and free markets. The winner will be announced Thursday, March 3.
David Keene, Chairman of the American Conservative Union, the host of CPAC, said, "Larry Ward and IPM are giving grassroots activists the opportunity to affect change using their own ideas, with the same technology available to professionals. I commend Larry for his willingness to reach out to individuals and engage them in the policy debate."
"The blogosphere, the journalism of the grassroots, was directly involved in Eason Jordan's resignation," Ward commented. "It is becoming more apparent that political power is being returned to the individual. IPM's mission is to continue to promote this trend."
CPAC will feature such pundits and respected members of the policy community as Karl Rove, Ann Coulter, Bob Novak, Senator Zell Miller, Sam Donaldson, Steve Moore, Senator Norm Coleman, and Senator George Allen.
Larry Ward will also appear on a panel entitled "Conservative Principles and Unresolved Issues: Differences Within The Family," in the format of the famed television program "Family Feud." Larry will be arguing in favor of free trade and economic growth, while the other side of the debate will feature Tim Carney, a Phillips Foundation Fellow and freelance journalist.
