This comes as no surprise, but our do-nothing neighbors to the North have declined participation in the missile defense shield. Apparently, the support just isn't there within the House to "risk" the Liberals losing future elections over.
The fact that this issue is so charged that Canadians would vote them out of office if they supported it should give us all a little into the mindset of our "allies." I don't know how else to read it other than Canadians prefering to bind our hands when it comes to defense. Does the majority of Canada prefer to see more destruction in the United States?
I don't dislike Canadians but I can't stand their weak minded liberals......it stands to reason from a govt that has never had to make a life and death decision on world matters......too bad the U.S. can't afford to be so idealistic......we have a planet to save, not just a hockey season
Does this mean that NORAD is now defunct? If so don't they realize that if we go down they go down!
Well, at least this gives us more intercept time to counter a northern attack if we don't have to include Canada in the shield. Of course, they get to deal with the fallout.
no.....NORAD is still operationally doing what it has always done....they do alot more than missle intercept.
yeah.....I guess we will now have to build big fans on the border so when they get nuked, the fallout won't blow down on us....we need to send more acid rain up to them
the dope says nope.
Anyone living in the U.S. that knowingly buys a Canadian product is a traitor.
I think our new Stryker APC is made in Canada.
Ha! I just got the mental picture of all our draft-dogers and deserters trying to get back in to escape the fallout. "sorry buddy, you made your bed..."
Instead of a missile shield, we should deploy a Strategic Missile Pinball Bumper system that wont kill the missiles, merely deflect them into Canada.
Quite an insane calculation, by a nation of fewer people than California, spread out 3,500 miles.
Such nation in the direct line of polar route fire, between long time enemies Soviet Union (Russia), China and the USA.
Canada has to be presuming that: a) Future conflict never occurs over their soil, or b) The USA will protect them in spite of their calculations, or c) That the rivals will spare Canada because they are s peaceful and helpful and polite etc.
A calculation to NOT align oneself with the most powerful nation on earth. A calculation to be effectively an obstacle to the most powerful nation on earth, so far as defending itself.
Very weakminded logic and math basis.
Well if you're right, I want to puke.
Well if you're right, I want to puke.
Throw a cask of Amantillado over the border, and then wall 'em up.
Very well said! Profound in its factual satire.

d)Canada's ally France will protect them.
