US Pop growth by state 1990-2000 If you take the demographic data in the article and lay it on top of this data, you see two trends. The illegals are going to the states with the highest total growth and to the states with the highest percentage growth.

The illegals are going to the states with the highest total growth and to the states with the highest percentage growth. In other words there is so much illegal immigration, it is increasing the population of the states where they go. In California, about 25% of the population is foreign-born.
