One would have to assume since 2000 these astronomical numbers have skyrocketed.
And still NOT factored in were the total "legal" immigration figures.
Quite frankly, and for the sake of the United States, ALL immigration from Mexico needs to be shut down until we get a handle on this. Period.
How could President Bush have seen these numbers and not been alarmed?

He wants to keep the borders open, it suits him just fine. I would be willing to bet the number of illegal immigrants within our borders is closer to 20 million than 10 million.

They are CRIMINAL INVADERS and should be treated as such.

How could President Bush have seen these numbers and not been alarmed? Because he and his pals are having campaign coffers filled with campaign contributions from the corrupt employers benefitting from illegal alien labor, and because of Karl Rove's mad idea that pandering to them will make Hispanic U.S. citizens vote Republican.

"Undocumented Immigrants" = Label invented by Marxist agitator Bert Corona (late, and unlamented, except by Art Torres).
It's just soooooo wonderful to hear the high and mighty using this phrase these days, knowing its origin. Just wonderful....

Neither Bush nor Congress have any business even considering (nor will I support) any so-called "guest worker" program until (1.)the government begins controlling illegal entry at the border and (2.)they begin rounding up and deporting the 9 million illegals already here and (3.)they start jailing the employers of illegals.

The size of the undocumented immigrant population in the United States is probably about 9 million people.

At the same time that the number of illegal laborers has been increasing, our economy has been growing and unemployment has been going down. Violent crime has also been decreasing. And our standard of living has been increasing.
What's all the hysteria about?

NM has 48% now. Once amnesty is passed through they will have a solid majority which means we will in effect, be losing all future elections to Mexico. There is little doubt that they will stick together when they vote because their families and friends still live in Mexico.

"Almost one-third of all undocumented immigrants live in California. I'm beginning to think that this statement should read, "Almost one-third of California's population are illegal immigrants."
I spend my work life bouncing from construction site to construction site. I am taken aback when I hear English spoken by someone other than the boss. The graffiti in the porta-johns usually sounds like MECHA or La Raza propaganda. These people may work hard but they do not want to assimilate at all. I'd say that most have nothing but contempt for this country and a desire to bilk us for all they can.
The jobs that "Americans just won't take" are jobs that Americans can't take because wages have been suppressed by illegals living 6 to a room. I wonder how long it will be until my job becomes a job that "Americans just won't take"?

Well, don't FUSS, come up with a viable solution, give it to us and let us email our representatives.
In Georgia, undocumenteds work in chicken houses, are day-laborers, etc. Some are in gangs, some work 6 to 9 months, then go back home for 3 to 6 months and live off what they earned.
Guest-worker Program? YES, BUT the undocumented MUST go back to his/her home Country first and apply for Guest-Worker status. AND, the day the job ends or the worker quits, the worker is escorted back to the border.
That should reduce the undocumented ranks by about a half or two-thirds. AND, NO Undocumented Pregnant Women get Guest-Worker cards.
While we're at it, change the laws regarding US Citizenship. If a baby is born to an Undocumented or a Guest-Worker, that baby is NOT a US Citizen. Only legal resident aliens get the honor and privilege of having their newborns become US Citizens if born in this Country.
Unless the USofA plans to Annex Mexico and Central America, it's time to sweep the undocumenteds back into their own Countries.
And while we're at it, let's start a program to charge the Country the undocumented (aka Illegal Alien) comes from for all medical expenses. We'll take the payment in Oil, I imagine.
Yeah, a bit of sarcasm.
