"Jane Fonda urinal stickers have been around for decades. I've seen Bill Clinton stickers and even French Flag urinal stickers."

Bill O'Reilly's website sells "BOYCOTT FRANCE" bumper stickers. Not everyone uses urinals.

I'm sure there are some Belgiums that are decent folks. However, for someone in a leadership position to tolerated or participate in this disrespectful and adolescent way makes me believe that too many Belgiums with character and courage died in the World Wars and this bunch of jerks is what is left.

You know. That's a thought. Every one thinks of Kerry as a Frog wanna be. But he is more Belgie - like. (more than insignificant)

They fought and died holding the line while the British were retreating to Dunkirk and the French were in disarray.

Slowed them down allot too! ...The Germans were in Paris in 40 days.

"Why did anyone think it was necessary to declare war on Germany in 1914 just because they invaded Belgium? Think of all the 20th-century disasters which would never have happened if everyone else had treated that invasion with the same degree of interest as, say, a war between Bolivia and Paraguay. Of course the Germans were also intent on invading France but that should have been no one else's concern either.

A lot of European countries used to have colonies which are in various conditions today, some better, some worse. Belgium had one and it's one of the worst disaster areas in Africa."

Europe suffers from culture clashes because of increased Muslim immigration. Just wait until the Terrorist factions of Muslims takes over Holland and Belgium, and France.

Really BRIGHT reactive French President Chirac banned wearing religious symbols and Muslim headgear in public! C'est egalite!

Glaring sarcasim...No, glaring contempt in above statement.

To answer my own question, No, because there's no consequence in them doing this.

Well, remember, they are culturally superior "Old Europeans" who don't want to offend anyone of consequence.

I don't mean any disrespect for the men who fought bravely and honorably in WWI. John McCrae's powerful poem was written after an immense number of men had died, and he's essentially saying that they have to keep faith with those who have died. In the beginning, before anyone was killed, was there something worth fighting for? The Kaiser was reckless and aggressive, but as a result of the war Germany got something far worse. Maybe the Brits in July 1914 should have told the Belgians to let the Germans pass through and to wave as they marched by. Then only the French would have been hurt.

I was agreeing with you, mourning the loss of those brave souls who gave their lives for ingrates who piss on the face of America. We need to repatriate our dead and bring them home to friendly native soil.

They know the US wouldn't attack them...they were afraid of the USSR.

Precisely why it's "safe" for them to do things like this...no consequence.

Had a very good communication from a Belgium consulate with the following comments. It would be good if they follow through with some action on this matter, especially if there are government employees involved . . . . .

______________________________

Thank you for bringing this article to our attention.

It is quite understandable that you felt offended by what was described in it. I am sending it on to my authorities.

The action taken by certain individuals as reported and described in the article is certainly tasteless. The actions described are telling more about those individuals, than about the way the majority of Belgians feel about President Bush, whom they respect.

As you can read throughout the piece and as we know from other initiatives he has taken in the past, the author of the article has an axe to grind with his own country. The impression he tries to give of overall Belgian feelings regarding the President and of the way his visit to Brussels proceeded, is completely misleading and unfounded.

As a matter of fact the President was received and warmly welcomed in Brussels by the King and Queen of the Belgians, and by the Belgian Government. Those who have sojourned there know that hospitality is no small part of Belgium's culture. An article over an isolated tasteless action does not alter that. We Belgians profoundly regret this initiative.

Let's make an old idea new for us then. Flags of Belgium, France and Germany on our urinals might be fun. But then, I guess that would bring us down to their level.

"Slowed them down allot too! ...The Germans were in Paris in 40 days."

Belgium had practically no significant army and they were a greater impediment to the German advance than were the French.

Also, the British evacuation at Dunkirk would've been an utter failure had not the Belgians prevented the Germans from cutting off that avenue of escape to the British.
