I know you did not bring up the SSPX but you sounded like a member. I bet you belong to them or at least are highly sympathetic to their causes, but I can't be absolutely sure. Anyway maybe I should have said ultra-traditionalist.

No doubt Pius X was a great Pope who fought modernism hard. But complaining about the current Pope will not do any good. If he was too harsh he could force open schism (although maybe he should do this anyway). So there are logical reasons for doing what he is doing, even if he is choosing the wrong options. So please keep your opinions to yourself or at least away from the general Catholic public and remember to pray for the Pope!

The only members are the priests, nuns, monks and third orders. I'm a Catholic in good standing who attends SSPX chapels for the benefit of my faith.

I belong to the Catholic Church as does any baptized Catholic who attends their chapels. But even if I were Jewish, Atheist, or Methodist, that wouldn't take away from the truth of my statements. I would like you to supply a definition of "ultra-traditionalist" I had an online discussion with a famous Catholic Apologist who tried that one on me. When I rebutted, he wasn't much in the mood for a debate and chose to scamper off.

No doubt Pius X was a great Pope who fought modernism hard.

Yep. He was a model saint and model Pope who took action and knew he had the responsibility that there is no one between him and God to look to.

But complaining about the current Pope will not do any good. If he was too harsh he could force open schism (although maybe he should do this anyway).

I don't see why complaining about the actions and inactions of the Pope is no good. He needs to know he's not feeding his flock properly. I agree that he should simply state the truth and let the chips fall where they may regarding a break with the liberals. We don't need them.

So there are logical reasons for doing what he is doing, even if he is choosing the wrong options.

Choosing the wrong options is not logical.

So please keep your opinions to yourself or at least away from the general Catholic public and remember to pray for the Pope!

Why do you want to prohibit me from my opinion with a post that gives your opinion? I'm part of the general Catholic public and obligated under justice and charity to point out error in my brethren. And I do pray for the Pope in my morning prayers each day.
