"I would have blacked out or thrown up". Kind of proves his point, doesn't it?

"I just couldn't breathe, because this kind of bias makes me physically ill," and that she had to flee the room because otherwise "I would've either blacked out or thrown up." ".

Guess it's a good thing she's in academia instead of being in a real job with real stress, like the kind of stress experienced by people in the military, police, or medical fields.

when I went to MIT, only about a quarter of the students were women, and now they are up to half. don't remember any fainting professors like Hopkins in the sciences, the female professors were sort of tough and scary as I remember them, and not many. (the humanities professors were a different type.)

anyway, MIT changed its focus and admissions process to bring up the female numbers - looking for a more "well-rounded" (not physically) student, more emphasis on the biology fields. Not so many single-minded driven nerds now I guess. so maybe Hopkins looks at the numbers and thinks mental talents were dealt out absolutely equally.
