That is a shame.
I loved that wild-eyed madman.
Last I heard, his cancer had flared up again and he was not being treated for it, by his choice.
RIP, Gene.

He was one strange fellow, but I have to say, some of the stuff he taught in front of his chalkboard, rivaled the subject matter of Art Bell, even surpassed it in some respects. Subjects like the Egyptian Pyramids and how they are arranged in such a way as when you look down on them from space, are in the same configuration as the stars positioned to form Orion's Belt.
RIP Dr. Gene, and thanks for the many years of "entertainment".

Some of the more comical moments was when he would wear shades and reading glasses, and two hats at the same time, puffin' on that big stogie.

I recall the "pyramid timetables" very well.
Sometimes he'd just play videos of himself riding his horses.
For years I never missed his show and then our cable co. "misplaced" him.
I found him again on an obscure channel at 6 in the a.m. Sundays about a year ago.
I was shocked [and saddened] by how thin he'd gotten.

I used to tune into his TV station on the backyard dish on Friday nights, and he'd lecture on obscure yet interesting stuff all night long.
He had a love for horses, even owned a stable of them. Some of the better moments was when he would show videotapes of the lovely women he surrounded himself with riding horses to such songs as The Pointer Sisters' "I'm So Excited".

I remember seeing him wearing a King's crown and cape. He was a hoot, as far as TV preachers go.

When Wife was in the "birthing room" getting ready to deliver our second child, the only thing on the TV in the middle of the night was Dr Eugene Scott. I had watched him before and had to admit I was amused at his antics, so I was happy and made Wife watch as well.
She never forgave me.
I loved his hat, his stogies, leather jackets and his style. At least he was honest when he said send me your money, I need more for my horses. Then he'd show clips of his daughter (I think) taking a horse through it's paces.
He hasn't been on here in Pittsburgh for years, and I miss him.
RIP Doc.

I once went to see him preach and the venue was overflowing with people and so I left. The Cathedral was filled with art work, some of it were things that painted. He used to sell his lecture notes as art work. They were written on large sheets of paper and filled with Greek and Hebrew. He was kind of an amazing force in Los Angeles.
You can still watch and listen to his sermons on line. He had an irreverent type of humor for an Evangelical preacher. I kind of liked that crusty old guy!

If I recall correctly, he bred and showed and TN Walkers.
His wife is beautiful.
I'm awfully sad for her because she always looked at him with "those" kind of eyes....
