Most of here agree that this is not a good thing, but the fact is that for many Americans who have lived with the welfare state for sixty years, their response to the above quote will be "SO WHAT?"
For now, the debate over the size and power of government is being lost, and folks like Congressman Pence are going to have to explain to people why government needs to be reduced, not simply point out that it is large.
You are exactly right. That is what Mike Pence does on a daily basis. Pence is a great communicator who can communicate our conservative ideas and principles on a national scale with grace, love and sincerity and allow the American people to understand the reasons behind conservatism. But ultimately it is our job as individuals and it is the job of the church to educate its community about Conservatism
