Clearwater, FL (LifeNews.com) -- A local judge has ruled that the estranged husband of Terri Schiavo cannot starve her to death tomorrow and has set a hearing this week to determine if he should be prevent from doing so while her parents continue their legal battle to save her life.
Michael Schiavo intended to remove Terri's feeding tube on Tuesday afternoon once a Florida appeals court finalizes its decision against Terri's parents Bob and Mary Schindler.
The Schindlers has hoped to convince the court that starving Terri to death would violate her religious liberties. As a Catholic, the Schindlers contend Terri would not want to have her life ended.
The Schindlers are planning to take that fight to the Supreme Court and, while they appeal, they want Michael prevented from ending Terri's life.
On Monday afternoon, Circuit Court Judge George Greer ruled that Michael will have to wait until he can hold a hearing on whether to allow the stay preventing the starvation to continue. Judge Greer set a date for a hearing on Wednesday.
While Terri is not on artificial life support and can breathe on her own, she requires a gastric tube to provide her with food and water. Should that be removed, she will die from a painful 7 to 10-day long starvation death.
George Felos, the euthanasia advocate who is Michael's lead attorney, has instructed him to remove the feeding tube as soon as he is legally authorized.
In addition to their legal fight, the Schindlers have brought in pro-life activist Randall Terry to encourage grassroots support on Terri's behalf.
"If Michael Schiavo has Terri's feeding tube removed, we will respond with an avalanche of activism to save Terri from death by starvation," Terry said Monday afternoon. "Why is Michael determined to starve this woman? Why won't he just give Terri back to her parents?"

I'm in agreement with you. Let's PRAY he'll leave!

The St.Pete/Clearwater contingent has sent word that they want those of us who are not in Pinellas County to hold down the fort, to bump threads, to post threads, and to keep up the pressure on Jeb Bush, House Speaker Bense and Sen Prez Lee, to keep calling and e-mailing and KEEP PRAYING! Everyone working together is vital!
Indeed. Had Jesus Christ done as suggested by this Freeper, there would have been no salvation.
Terri parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, are asking everyone for prayers.
Thanks, amdgmary. Prayers and more for you all.
I cannot imagine sitting in court for any of these proceedings.
And where do you go to church brother?
More than likely, Felos will proceed to have Terri's feeding tube removed tomorrow at exactly 1:00 pm, the same time Judge Greer will hold the hearing.
Felos told Greer that he no longer has jurisdicition over the removal of the feeding tube. Felos is desperate!
Thanks, Anna.
I wonder, Is there a way to do for Terri what you did for the Hollywood billboard?
I read something somewhere today that also made me wonder who is really in charge down there: Felos telling Michael Schiavo what to do, when he could pull the tube. Wish I could find that.
I remember also how last time, Terri's starvation/dehydration actually preceeded the time that the tube was removed -- she actually had not been fed for "x" hours longer than when the tube had been removed.
Also that she was further stressed and challenged by dressing her in inappropriate clothes and blankets.
Somewhere that teaches me the Word|Jesus...
...and not the religion|doctrines|traditions|folly spouted by those having a form of Godliness but denying the Power thereof.
:o)
"If MY people who are called by MY Name will humble themselves and pray, seek MY face and turn from their wicked ways...then will I hear from Heaven, then will I forgive their sin and I will heal their land."
I find it difficult to believe that someone who has those words on their home page can post such vile things to Freepers who are trying to save Terri. Either you believe in Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, or you're just putting words on your home page to convince others that you are a believer. How dare you criticize the people here for trying to save Terri and others that will surely die this same way if this isn't murder stopped.
I'm totally against abortion. That doesn't mean that just because the number of murdered babies far exceeds the life of 1 person - that life is diminished and worth less.
What??? How's that???
Sorry, that was a little too sharp.

Vanity thy name is dramaqueen.
Relax yourself.
So, you go to (or preach at) a good bible based church that preaches the gospel of the lord. Im just a bit perplexed by your seemingly hostile view of this situation.
Felos faxed this letter to Judge Greer today telling Greer that Michael will remove Terri's feeding tube tomorrow at 1:00 pm and that Greer has no jurisdiction to issue another stay. Felos is desperate to see Terri die.

How do you spell "Contempt of Court?"
Ah, are you STILL at it, sweetheart?
Your Free Republic page states this: "The Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus will set "YOU" free from the Law of Sin and Death. As a result of this reality, there is absolutely no condemnation for those of us who are in Christ Jesus." Where does this come from?
We join together here, with deep and sincere care in our hearts, to pray, to consult, to seek contact information for those in positions of control .. all in our genuine and fervent prayer to forestall the murder of an innocent soul .. Terri is just as special as any innocent baby in the womb, no one here is making any comparisons for none is required. It is not a zero sum game.
