"But do not be deceived. In "Kingdom of Fear" and in a telephone interview with Salon from his compound in Aspen, Colo., Thompson did what he's always done: speak the truth about American society as he sees it, without worrying much about decorum. "Who does vote for these dishonest shitheads?" he writes, referring to the people currently occupying the White House. "They are the racists and hate mongers among us -- they are the Ku Klux Klan. I piss down the throats of these Nazis."
That's his enduring attitude in this new age of darkness: a lot more loathing than fear. "

Does this surprise anyone? It was always clear to me that he was mentally ill and going by the way of suicide was always high on the likelihood meter.

There's alot of hagiography for Hunter, "the artist". The fact is, he was a man of the Left and fought for the worst of their ridiculous and damaging beliefs. He'll be eulogized by Hollywood and the New York Times. His side is wrong.
" Sayonara and good riddance..." an appropriate epitaph.

Sounds like his fear and loathing, and paranoia became too much to handle. RIP.

I don't know who he was, but from the comments here it sounds as if he was one of those liberals who hated Bush. I've been reading about them for some time and it appears they are losing their minds. This may be the first of many suicides. I have some liberal family members who I've avoided discussing politics with, but now I'm kind of worried and think I'll do an intervention.

I think Thompson was an unable whackjob who hated America and I could care less about his suicide.

I agree good riddance. The POS never said a word when Klinton murdered the women and children at Waco and Ruby Ridge. None of these commies are honest or consistent. They are all liars and hypocrites.
