It's not working for me this year. The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue just isn't working.
We're told this issue will generate $50 million in ad sales, calendars, television shows and other spin-offs, but I think more people are thinking and feeling precisely what I am: The concept is tired and played out.
Surely you've heard about the history of this issue. In 1964, the editors wanted to do something to draw readers during February. With football over and baseball not yet begun, readership usually plunged.
So on Jan. 20, 1964, they launched the first swimsuit issue -- a cover shot of a model in a one-piece swimsuit, and an eight-page pictorial on the inside. In the first issue, the models dressed modestly, but still some attacked the publication for exploiting and objectifying women.

Nonsense!
Jon Stewart (of The Daily Show... Comedy Central... yeah, its a liberal laugh fest, but gives me the chuckles..) refered to the SI swimsuit issues as; "Quaint, almost... Amish" (ie, by comparison to the day-to-day flesh fest we see everywhere!)
Marisa Miller is the hottest thing on this planet. And possibly any other planet in the galaxy. I don't but this issue, but I spent about 20 minutes staring at it in Barnes & Noble the other day when I had some time to kill.
What's this guy know about babes? He's from Mt. Lebanon fer crissake!
Damn! I have to wonder how long it will be before the SI swimsuit editiion includes a guy and his package..
(yeah it's lame responding to your own post...)
Is that Chris Farley with the red hair......puke.
I may never eat again
LOL! You saved me the trouble :o)
I'm going out for a jog.
I used to get Esquire.... but I couldn't take it anymore.. talk about gay, it used to be a man's magazine..
Once they get a boob job, that's it. As far as I'm concerned they are damaged goods.
I'm blind, I'm blind!!!
well what would you expect from the four letter network?
Thanks for reminding me why I have a pool.
