Bikini babes: Beautiful and boring

It's not working for me this year. The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue just isn't working.

We're told this issue will generate $50 million in ad sales, calendars, television shows and other spin-offs, but I think more people are thinking and feeling precisely what I am: The concept is tired and played out.

Surely you've heard about the history of this issue. In 1964, the editors wanted to do something to draw readers during February. With football over and baseball not yet begun, readership usually plunged.

How true, at least as far as major media is concerned.. Sexy women are out and gay is in.

Jon Stewart (of The Daily Show... Comedy Central... yeah, its a liberal laugh fest, but gives me the chuckles..) refered to the SI swimsuit issues as; "Quaint, almost... Amish" (ie, by comparison to the day-to-day flesh fest we see everywhere!)

Marisa Miller is the hottest thing on this planet. And possibly any other planet in the galaxy. I don't but this issue, but I spent about 20 minutes staring at it in Barnes & Noble the other day when I had some time to kill.

Have you every seen ESPN magazine? If there are more than 2 pictures of females in it you are lucky. Almost every ad has a half dressed man in it, it's like they are targeting gays almost exclusively.

Once they get a boob job, that's it. As far as I'm concerned they are damaged goods.
