I'm all for fighting the WoT, and all that. But these gangs are terrorists too, and we need to fight them with all the vigor that we fight Al-Qaeda with.

From your mouth to God's ear. I hope He is listening.

"But they're only here to work." (gag)

Our diversity is our stench, taking us from the melting pot to the chamber pot.

I'm in complete agreement. I believe the philosophy of "self help" we're trying to instill to the population of Iraq is applicable to us as well. Why should we wait on the government as the Iraqis wait on the coalition to purge their country of internal terrorists when we are completely capable of "cleaning house" ourselves. The problem is that no one want to get involved because it's easier to just turn our collective heads and pretend that by ignoring the matter will make it go away or in the worst case scenario that "the law" will take care of the matter.

If the law was capable of taking care of the matter then it wouldn't exist, would it? The law and the law enforcement agencies can not do anything unless something happens. So, in essence, it is in their interest to allow things to happen so that they can establish their relevance, after the fact.
