Excuse you! As a Samoan, tattoos are a part of the culture. Obviously, you'd be too offended to ever come over to my house. LOL!

Fine. But the young people I referred to are not Samoan. Tattoos and body piercing are not part of their culture—if anything, they are a statement against their traditional culture.

When I see middle-class American kids emulating gang members in their clothing, their tattoos, their speech, and their entertainments, I wonder what has gone wrong.

And what does a middle class American kid look like? I'm only asking as a chick who was raised middle class in America. I would love to know.

The ghetto look is just as ugly as the Gothic thing. UGH!
