The Suns dominated All-Star Saturday Night in Denver. Phoenix's Quentin Richardson heated up when it counted most, hitting his last nine shots to finish with a final-round score of 19 and win the 2005 Foot Locker Three-Point Shootout. Current Suns All-Star Shawn Marion and former Suns All-Star Dan Majerle joined the Mercury's Diana Taurasi to win the RadioShack Shooting Stars competition and Phoenix guard Steve Nash defeated Denver's Earl Boykins in the finals of the PlayStation Skills Challenge. Suns center Amaré Stoudemire wrapped up the night by placing second in the Sprite Rising Stars Slam Dunk.

Wow, I didn't even realize it was on. Long ago are the days of Bird, Johnson, Kareem, Olojuwan, McHale, and the rest of the team players.

Wow, I didn't even realize it was on. Long ago are the days of Bird, Johnson, Kareem, Olojuwan, McHale, and the rest of the team players.

The Phoenix Suns have a very exciting team this year-lots of firepower. They need to focus on the things which make champion teams, though, or they won't go far in post season.

They need to concentrate on defense consistantly, which they don't, and rebounding, which they don't. They need to toughen up. When teams start banging them up, they tend to abandon their inside game, and whine a lot. They also need to acquire something all great teams have: the killer instinct. When a great team gets a big lead, they squash their opponents. The Suns tend to allow their opponents back in the game.

That being said, they have the talent to become great. They just have to get over the idea that they can shoot their way to victory, and work on the rest of their game.

BTW, if I were coaching a team playing against them in the playoffs, I would try to neutralize Nash by having my players take turns roughing him up, along with contesting every shot the Suns take with hard fouls. Teams that do that do quite well against them.
