"I wouldn't answer the marijuana questions," he said, according to the Times. "You know why? Because I don't want some little kid doing what I tried."

|Agree. My policy when my kids were young was to make them believe I would never do drugs and they sould never consider it either.

Telling your kids that you did "such and such" is only tempting them to give it a try because "Dad did it" or "Mom did it" or "The President did it" and they turned out ok.

Nothing says you have to be totally honest with your kids.

I think there could more.

I read a story on drudge during last year's campaign that he used cocaine in his younger days and that he was shy around females.

So a disgruntled exworker has tapes...which he is only willing to play in total, in front of liberal press folks.

Odds are the guy won't offer them up for real inspecting for editing and content.

So we will never know what is really in them.

BTW. In transcripts of the tape so far released.....Bush has not actually said that he smoked pot. Did not actually say that he tried it. He gave an example.

You know...some people are too stupid too read what is actually reported .

The transcript ....and the audio played.....AT NOT POINT DOES HE STATE THAT HE ACTUALLY TRIED IT.

The statments that are played show a hypothetical.

So good luck too you, it obvious that you are easily duped with out of context snips.

Looks more like Bush was giving a hypothetical. Funny how much of the MSM has not been reporting that they were talking about Gore's answering and then went to what has been played.

from cnn.com

-Bush also criticizes then-Vice President Al Gore for admitting marijuana use and explains why he would not do the same.

"I wouldn't answer the marijuana questions," he said, according to the Times. "You know why? Because I don't want some little kid doing what I tried."-

Look, I don't know what Bush did....but CNN just played the tapes again....and they were in different order and context than what was put on on Sunday.

With the showing of the Gore part....it just looks more like a hypothetical than an admission.

What's so especially disgusting about the president's opportunistic deployment of gay-bashing for political purposes is that, by all accounts and evidence, he doesn't believe a word of it. On the tapes, Bush is a "closet tolerant" who knows perfectly well that what he is doing is wrong.

When I meet people who, out of sincere conviction (usually religious) believe homosexuality is sinful and that public policy ought to be deployed to prevent this sinful behavior, I disagree with them. But I understand that this sort of deep moral disagreement rooted in faith is shared with other religionists.

When you see someone like Bush who knows perfectly well that the view he's adopted for political purposes is wrong, but who adopts it anyway out of cyncial thirst for power, well, then, that's just totally disgusting.

Actually, I call it drivel, but you already knew that.

You are obsessed with George W. Bush; it must kill you because he's such a successful president, as compared to your hero, Billy Blythe.
