Your analysis is right on. Hillary has no chance with the far left so she is trying to position herself as a moderate. An interesting strategy, to say the least.

I've assumed Hillary takes for granted support from far left and radical centric groups (fems, gays, abortion worshippers, etc). She is repositioning herself to pander to the "moderates." I don't believe GLAAD and NOW, the NEA, One World Government socialists, et al, will forsake Hillary. She has wooed them for a long time.
