The White House Stages Its 'Daily Show' (Frank Rich wants Jeff Gannon's Phone Number..)
NY Times ^ | Sunday February 20, 2005 | Frank 'Friend of Dorothy' Rich

It's a brilliant strategy. When the Bush Adminsitration isn't using taxpayers money to buy its own news, it does evertything in can to shut out and pillory reporters who might tell Americans 'what is really happening' in their own government.

Paul Darhi of the Washington Post discovered this even at an inaugural ball when he was assigned 'minders'--attractive women who wouldn't give him their full names---to let revelers know that Big Brother was watching should they be tempted to say something remotely off message.

The inability of 'real journalists' to penetrate this White House is not all the White Houses fault. The errors of real news organizations have played perfectly into the administrations hands. The frequent fecklessness of the Beltway gang does little to penetrate this Washington smokescreen.

For a case in point you need only to switch over to CNN on the day after Mr. Olberman did his fake news style story on a 'fake reporter' in the White House. The real news from CNN was really no news at all, but its not as any of their competitors did any better.

With 'real news' this timid, the appointmetn of Jon Stewart to take over part of Dan Rather's CBS Evening News chair could be just the jolt television journalism needs. As Mr. Olbermann demonstrated, when he borrowed a sharp 'Daily Show' tool to puncture the Jeff Gannon case, the only road back to reality may be to fight fake with fake.

I wonder if they shot lasers from their eyes that filled him with impure thoughts.

Have another drink Paul, at least a gullible idiot like Frank Rich will believe your JamesBondian stories of superhot secret agent vipers - deadly but hot!

At least Gannon -- or whatever the hell his name is -- resigned.

Meanwhile, those news fraudsters at CBS continue to retain their jobs.

Apparently this A-Hole never heard of PBS and NPR. Those two "organizations" have been the pillars of the left for years.

It's funny that its right out of the jihadi playbook - "the Great Satan is using alluring sinful women and their demonic sexual attraction to fill us with lust - and thus with shame! It's torture worthy of nazi death camps!"

Have these journalist goofballs ever even kissed a girl?

Frank Rich builds himself a little fantasy world here. There's no big turnover in WH media faces from Clinton's regime that I can recall. So there was no penetration in the Clinton White House too?

I have it from a reliable source that this is how the White House actually "manages" the major news services:

"Frank 'Friend of Dorothy' Rich"

Actually the name you may be thinking of is Denise Rich, who paid the Clintons several Mack Truck loads of Millions of Dollars to get her Ex-Husband (and TREASONOUS CROOK) Marc Rich Pardoned in the very last hours of the Clinton administration.

BTW...Rush nicknamed her Denise "42" Rich for her Dolly Parton-like top!

Friend of Dorothy is a super secret code word that denotes those with an unhealthy appreciation for Broadway show tunes, if you get our drift.

It refers to Judy Garland.

Gee I wonder what the "Press Corps" response will be if the White House starts screening out reporters based on their Journalistic Qualifications. Based on this standard, not only does Gannon have to go, but anyone who works for either CNN or CBS should ALSO be banned. Wonder how whiny Rich would like that standard being imposed on the hate filled bigots in the Dinosaur Media.

Stooges, you lost Nov 2nd. Your are irrelevant, get use to it.

Does Reynolds make designer tin foil for the likes of Rich, Howard Kurtz and Olberman ?
Kurtz and Olberman act like obsessed Gannon groupies , it's all Gannon all the time, not sure if this began before or after the pictures surfaced.
Rich used to review off, off Broadway plays and tv shows as the draaaaama critic for the NYT.
I bet his hat is adorned with sequins and feathers for better reception.
