Isn't Jack Wheeler a guy who used to write for Strategic Investment? If so, I recall that his tips where oftne "out there." Wouldn't take this too seriously just yet.

It's just a rumor.
Cheney needs to remain our VP. Condi is a good secretary of state. She wouldn't make a good VP. VP's have very little power and Condi's expertize is needed in the position she is in.

I keep waiting for specifics on Rice's position on abortion, etc.
Otherwise, I think this (Cheney stepping down in favor of a likely presidential successor) is probably best, much as I like him.

That would be wonderful,it true. Of course I love Cheney. I would hate to see him step down.

There have been rumors that Dick Cheney is going to quit for health reasons almost as long as he's been Vice President. Maybe one of these days, those rumors will turn out to be true. I'll believe it when I see it.

Perhaps as Sec. State she can learn to get the quake and uncertainty from her voice, which is present when she speaks 'off the cuff'.

It was my expectation that Rice and Cheney would switch positions at the end of the first term. Just thinking about who W is, and who the Bushes are, you had to know they're going to try to set her up for 2008 or 2012. You could see this coming in 2000. Not that I'm against it, but I would like to see her position on abortion a little more clear.

As much as I like Condi, I don't want Cheney to step down. I'd be open to her being the GOP candidate in '08 but I'm pushing for Duncan Hunter.

Nothing but a rumor. They are just speculating.

This would be a masterful political move, opening the door for a Condi vs. Clinton showdown in 2008. I'm already salivating at the prospect of their debates! Hillary won't know what hit her.
To: pookie18
Interesting theory. But I would hate to lose Cheney.
Then again, all of us can be replaced.
