In his ongoing campaign to squelch the controversy over his remarks about why few women rise to the top in the fields of math and science, Harvard President Lawrence Summers said today he now believes that women are as "calculating as any male mathematician."
Mr. Summers, who faces faculty calls for his resignation, said he was also wrong about the female aptitude for science.
"Clearly, my experience of the past several weeks has shown that women are genetically equipped to engage in careful scrutiny, dissection and identification of even slight deviations," he said. "Frankly, no further research is needed."
Pinging the usual suspects!
(anyone wanting on or off the satire ping list, let me know!)
Too bad this situation is truly beyond satire. One of the dumbest "controversies" in ages.
It's funny. Thanks for the ping!
I personally don't think it's controversial that women are calculating. I mean...I've never run into one that had problems with their calculations. Actually, they're quite good at calculating.
:)
My college degree is in Math. What's so funny about this article?
just in case you are serious: http://www.answers.com/calculating&r=67 (definition 2)
Men are easy, math is still hard.
Speaking of Harvard, did anyone else see that incredibly bright and well spoken young man on O'Reilly last night.....I believe his name was Shapiro? He has dedicated himself to fighting for free speech for Conservatives...on American university campuses. I predict
big things ahead for this young man. Hopefully, Hannity will bring him on his show.....soon. (Hannity, are you watching?)
He has a book out called "Brainwashed". I suggest we all rush out and get (order) a copy. Help bring Shapiro to the front of the best seller list.....and to the attention of America.
Ben Shapiro is also a Townhall columnist:

Deviation?
Third time I read this post. If the young man is good we will hear from him!!!
bttt

Doh! Scapple! I didn't read the article. Egg on face. Ah well.
I'm not so sure about this. I remember high school biology class, and the women most definitely didn't care for dissecting.
Obviously, you are a devoted and well read Freeper. I like that!
