It's not only WHAT Geffen said, it's WHERE he chose to make the statement...Coming into Manhattan..Hillary's back yard..to throw down the gauntlet..

Something tells me that Geffen carries about as much weight with the Democratic Party as Calista Flockhart carries, period.

"She can't win, and she's an incredibly polarizing figure,"

Ya sure, you betcha...wait until 2007 and the only prospect they have for the presidential race is Dean the Screamer or a warmed over Kerry. These power hungry megalomaniacs will resurrect Hillary! faster than it takes Bill to drop his pants.

Sure she's a polarizing figure but by the next presidential campaign she will have won another term in the senate (running as a center-lefty) and you won't recognize her as the media gives her a complete policy makeover.

"Free Man in Paris" Geffen, one of many Demo-sugar daddies.
I think it was L. Ingram (`Shut Up & Sing'?, maybe AnnC) who wrote that the average Republican contribution to the 2000 presidential campaign was about $50, and from people who make their own beds. Strange--the Dems won't release their figure.
Wonder how much longer the Dems can float the stereotype of conservatives as brandy-swilling, cigar chomping plutocrats.

Actually, this looks like someone who is a realist.

He is seeking a winner, same philosophy, same politics, same culture, but a winner.

He simply doesn't believe his money would be wisely invested in a Hillary candidacy.

Last thing Reps need is for the Dems to become realists!

"Geffen's dis was met with hearty applause."

Them's the nicest words I've read all day. The sharks are smelling blood :) Who will be the next dem to jump on the anti-Rodham bandwagon? Also...will her so-called move to the center get her in trouble with NY voters?

She can get enough of the women's vote to win if the Republicans run a RINO. That's how her husband won.

Nothing but a temper tantrum looking for attention. Knows he'll support Hill and knows its early enough to paper over diff's and knows it will put the fear of tantrum into Hildebeast if she runs too far right.

Mr. Geffen should hire a bodyguard if he dosen't already have one.

He should also pay a visit to the local district attorney and sign the following affadavit:

"If I die and the coroner claims I killed myself they are lying. Arrest Hillary!"

The 92nd Street Y is one of NYC's liberal headquarters. It's highly significant that David Geffen chose that venue to say this, and also significant that he gained applause, rather than a gasp of surprise.

Also significant that this is reported in the NY Daily News, which has been one of the clinton's most loyal supporters. They did a fair amount of dirty work for hillary against Howard Dean last year, and bill clinton is a close friend of the publisher.

Can this possibly be true?

To whom was he speaking, The Young Republicans?
