There's an interesting comment in that pro-Al Jazeera "documentary" Control Room, which sounded only half-joking. I don't recall the exact words, but the idea was that when journalists left their positions with the BBC, their next stop was usually the Al Jazeera network.

Yep, that all fits.

and vice versa. BBC hired the former editor-in-chief, Ibrahim Helal, of Al-Jazeera TV to "train" its Middle eastern journalists.
