What is their [the terrorists'] goal? They have only one: “The overthrow of the godless regimes and their replacement with an Islamic regime.”

It is not only the goal of terrorists but the desire of all Muslims to see the U.S. Constitution replaced by Sharia law. CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper has admitted this repeatedly.

This is the fallacy of the muslims. Islam is a cult of death in which the "leaders" of this cult, bin laden in particular, seek domination, but with him at the helm. Islam is no different than nazism. It's just been cloaked in a phony religious garb by dupes in the media, government, academia, and so forth. As such, it is off-limits in certain circles to criticize islam and its adherents. That is a recipe for our demise.

Exactly. It's a good article, but really, the author should not have used the word "Americans" when the correct word is "liberals". Most Americans are not Islamist apologists, as evidenced on November 2nd.

The great strength of Western Civilization is our ability to criticize ourselves, analyze various changes, and ADAPT to new circumstances. I agree!! Short memory and short sighted. I wonder what would have happen after 911 if we had just behaved as the previous 20 years where they committed their acts and ran back to some country that protected them. How many 911'S are required before we have a unified commitment to protect ourselves. I think that they misjudged Bush and thought him weak. I don't think they expected his policy that if you protect terrorists you are not safe and that we will pursue them wherever they flee. Some states have moved to rid themselves of terrorists and we are now able to determine their main supporters. Its hard to plan attacks when you are fleeing for your life. Their misjudgment has cost them dearly but how dearly would it have cost us if we had just maintained the converse and embrace tactics of the ignorant.

The nay-sayers to Bush's war on terror have to realize two things:

1. Logistical and financial resources are being used up for frontline operations vs the US military and not for planning and training for attacks on US soil.

2. The quality of terrorists has been severely diminished due to lack of training. This is justified by the more common occurance of premature detonations of homebombs in terrorists makeshift labs. Their lack of experience shows.
