I agree with you on most things...except the "children of the devil" part. I don't think the devil has children. I think there are believers and unbelievers. But this is a rabbit trail on this thread.

This passage is consistant with parable of the seed,and parable of the Tares.And also with passages where Jesus speaks of His mother,brother etc. (Luke 8:19-21)And also fits actions and lifestyle choice of those spoken of in this thread.IMO
